What I Know Now

Food For Thought Friday - #F4TFridayIn a break with tradition, I’m actually going to attempt to answer this week’s questions as set; so here goes…

What one part of your sex life today would most surprise the 18 year old you?
Probably that I would ever actually have a sex-life (see the third answer below). Actually, I guess even the youngest version of the sexually active me would never have guessed how central the ideal of sensualism would be to my sexual persona, and the amount of pleasure I would derive from performing cunnilingus.

What one thing might shock that younger you?
I suspect this would be my exploration of D/s. Actually, 18 year old me wouldn’t even know such a thing existed. What porn I had encountered at that point had been reasonably graphic in terms of oral sex and penis in vagina sex, but was purely “vanilla” in nature.

Is there anything in the younger you’s sexual ambitions or fantasies you have not yet fulfilled?
In fairness,I’ve never really been one for sexual fantasies as such. However, given that, in high school, I was that most utterly unshagable combination of heavy metal/hard rock fan and science nerd, any fantasies I would have had most likely centred around any member of the opposite sex finding me in any way attractive and actually wanting to have sex with me. The fact that I would discover that such women did actually exist was, I guess, the fulfillment, of any such fantasies that my younger self had.

What part of the younger you’s sex life do you look back on with the most nostalgia?
On one hand, absolutely nothing; I really wouldn’t want to go through all that awkward, inexperienced fumbling again. Having said that, I do have a certain nostalgia for that time when sex was new and had a wonderful novelty that comes with inexperience and the fun of experiencing something for the first time. Thirty years on, sex is no less exciting or enjoyable; I’d go as far as to say that the knowledge of what my tastes and desires are makes it better than ever, but nothing will ever replace the heady excitement of those early experiences.
